Stephen Duquette B.Sc., B.Ed., CIM
Stephen began his career in the financial services industry in 1997. A veteran of the industry, he has helped his clients navigate many market cycles, corrections and bear markets including the 2000-2002 “Tech Wreck”, the “Great Recession” of 2007-2009, and many other corrections and geopolitical events that have affected stock markets . Along with his experience in navigating markets and economic cycles, Stephen maintains that his critical role is in helping manage their emotions, particularly in times of market turmoil. “Markets tend to act like a pendulum. On average, the pendulum sits at the bottom of its natural swings. However, it tends to have excessive moves from one extreme being high stock prices to the other extreme of low stock prices. And with that, investors emotions of fear and greed naturally follow the movement of the pendulum. We need to help our clients understand that successful investing requires discipline and a framework for making decisions that does not include emotions.” Stephen utilizes a strict rules-based investment process that does just this. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Science and, over the years, he has developed a depth of knowledge and expertise in wealth planning and investing. This includes the Chartered Investment Manager accreditation, and the designation Portfolio Manager, which requires the highest level of experience, education and competence in wealth management.
